Bravo, David.  I have to nominate this for quote of the year.  =|^)

You're right.  I see more than a 3:1 ratio of lines-of-code between an AREXX
script and it's equivalent C plugin -- even writing it as efficiently as
possible.

To add to David's wonderful imagery, AREXX is like operating an automobile
from the driver's seat, while C is more like driving from on top of the
engine.  Of course, if you've been writing C/C++ for a lot of years, you
tend to prefer that well-worn seat on top of the carburetor, because you get
to let your tongue hang out in the wind and you get a much better view.  =|^)
